Goava Signals

Goava Signals help you decide when time is right to reach out to a prospect/customer. Learn about where they come from and how they work.

What are signals and where do they come from?

Goava collects signals from eight sources: Nordic news media, LinkedIn, company websites, Nordic company registers, Swedish annual reports, EU public procurement, Vinnova grants, and job postings. Each one shows up as a news story or a recruitment posting on the company's page in Discover, and your signal agents pick them up automatically.

A signal is something a company does or something that happens to it, such as hiring a new CEO, opening a new site, winning a contract or publishing a tender. These are the moments when a company has a reason to talk to you. This article lists every source, how often it updates, and which kinds of signals you can expect from it.

News media

Goava has news coverage from all Nordic news media sources. That means national and regional newspapers, trade press and other news outlets in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.

Every article is matched to the companies it mentions and filed on each company's page under News. Goava also tags it with the triggers it relates to (for example new CEO, expansion, investment, launch or contract win), so you can filter on them and your signal agents can act on them.

Typical signals from news media:

  • Funding rounds, acquisitions and ownership changes
  • Contract wins and lost contracts
  • Product launches and new markets
  • Investments, expansions and new sites
  • Management changes and executive hires
  • Reorganisations

LinkedIn posts

Every morning Goava collects the previous day's public LinkedIn posts from Sweden, Norway and Denmark, keeps the ones about a real business event, and ties each one to the right company. Each signal names who wrote the post and the person involved, and links to the original, so you can use it as an opener ("I saw that ..."). It covers public posts that Google indexes, so it is a selection rather than all of LinkedIn. Finland is not covered yet. Signals are tagged "LinkedIn Post".

LinkedIn job changes

Each week Goava picks up people who recently changed jobs and writes a news item for every new hire. The item is tagged with the matching trigger: executive recruitment, new CEO, new CFO, new CMO, new CTO, new HR manager or new head of sales. The signal shows up only on the company the person actually joined, with the job title exactly as it appears on LinkedIn. This is especially useful for small and mid-sized companies that rarely get press coverage.

Company websites

Goava follows the websites of about 90,000 Nordic companies every week and publishes new findings in Discover on Mondays.

  • Careers pages: Job postings published directly on the company's site, about 1,900 a week. They appear in the Recruitment tab. Postings that are also on a job board are only shown once.
  • Customer cases: When a company publishes a reference case, Goava writes two news items. The supplier gets a customer_case (what they deliver, to whom, at what scale), and the customer gets a supplier_case (what they invested in, why, and who the current supplier is). A published case is not always a new deal, so the text says when it was found and which year the work dates from.
  • New contacts: Goava checks newly listed decision-makers on company sites every day. Moves that are verified as new hires or role changes are published as news.

Nordic company registers

Goava publishes news every day about changes in the company registers in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland, about 1,500 stories a week in the company's own language. You get signals on new workplaces, new subsidiaries within a group, ownership changes (stories for the buyer, the acquired company and the seller) and Nordic market entries. A new workplace usually appears 2 to 3 days after it opens in Norway and Denmark, and about 10 days after in Sweden. Early signals on new group companies reach you 6 to 24 months before the group link shows in the register.

Swedish annual reports

Every week Goava reads the digitally filed annual reports from Bolagsverket from the week before, about 5,700 reports, and publishes what matters for sales. You get what happened (acquisitions, new sites, investments, new customers, launches, staff growth), what is planned (expansions, hiring, moves, ownership changes), financial distress warnings, and a short summary of each report. Each item links to the report on a mobile-friendly Goava page. The research agent also uses annual reports when you ask about fit, plans or warning signs. Large groups rarely file digitally, so coverage is strongest for small and mid-sized Swedish limited companies.

EU public procurement

Goava turns Nordic public procurement into signals using the EU's official TED database, updated daily. It covers every deal above the EU thresholds, roughly 1.6 to 2.5 MSEK for goods and services and 61 MSEK for construction. Three events count as signals: a company wins a contract (new capacity and hiring needs), loses a bid to a competitor (a window to replace the supplier) or publishes a tender (an open buying window). Each story includes contract value, buyer, timeline and links to the companies involved.

Vinnova grants

Grants above 500 kSEK from Vinnova are added to news and signals.

Job boards

Job postings from the Nordic job boards are shown in the Recruitment tab on each company page and can be filtered by role. They tell you where a company is building its team and who is likely to start evaluating new tools.

How to use signals

All sources feed the same places in Goava, so you can use them in the same way:

  1. Company page: Open News or Recruitment on any company to see its latest signals, each with a link to the original source.
  2. Filters: In Discover, filter on news tags, publish date and recruitment roles to build segments around the events that matter to you.
  3. Signal agent: Set your agent to trigger by Signals. It scores each company against your ICP and delivers good fits with the triggering signal and the reasoning, in your lists, your daily or weekly digest and your CRM. You can give the signal agent instructions to match your sales motion.
  4. Research agent: Ask about a company's plans, fit or warning signs and the agent draws on news, annual reports and the other sources above.

See the Signal agent article for setup steps.
