Signals from annual reports and Nordic company-change news
Discover now turns Swedish annual reports into sales signals every Monday, adds daily company-change news from the Nordic registers, and the Research Agent can answer questions straight from the annual report. This post explains what each part does, how fast it arrives and which companies it covers.
The idea is simple. Companies tell the registers and their owners what they have done and what they plan to do, often months before it reaches the news. We now read it for you, so you can use it as a reason to call.
Signals from Swedish annual reports
Goava now reads every digitally filed Swedish annual report (årsredovisning) and publishes what matters for sales in Discover. Every week we read the reports filed with Bolagsverket the week before, about 5,700 of them. New signals appear every Monday morning. See an example of how a annual report in Goava looks like here.
We publish four kinds of items:
|
Item |
What it tells you |
Examples |
|---|---|---|
|
What happened |
Something the company did during the year |
Acquisitions, new stores and sites, investments in machinery and property, new customers and contracts, launches, staff growth |
|
What's planned |
Something the company says it will do next |
Expansions, hiring, moves, launches, ownership changes |
|
Financial distress |
A warning sign to handle with care |
Equity below half the share capital, or an auditor warning about the company's ability to continue or about unpaid taxes |
|
Summary |
A short overview of the report |
The year's development, plus wind-downs and other context |
Financial distress is flagged once, when it happens, so you are not reminded again every week.
What each item links to. Every item links to the annual report on a clean, mobile-friendly Goava page. It shows the key figures and the company's own words, and jumps straight to the relevant section of the report.
Why it helps. The directors' report is where a company says, in its own words, what it did and what it is about to do. "Opened a second store." "Starting a pilot plant with LKAB." "Will double our staff ahead of 2027." That is a reason to call and a talking point, often before it reaches the news. Distress signals tell you whom to approach carefully, or which customers to look after.
First week. From 5,700 reports we published about 2,900 news items: about 1,350 summaries, about 1,450 events and about 110 plans in the first week.
Company-change news from the Nordic registers
Every day, Goava publishes news about changes in the company registers in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. That is about 1,500 stories a week. Each story is written in the company's own language and filed under every company involved.

Type |
What you see |

New workplaces |
A company opens a new site (SE, NO, DK) |
"Europris åpner butikk i Porsgrunn", "Joe & the Juice åpner kafé i Loddefjord" |
2-3 days after it starts operating in Norway and Denmark, about 10 days in Sweden |
|
New companies in a group |
A parent starts a new subsidiary |
A new subsidiary appears under its parent |
In Sweden and Finland, early signals catch it right away, 6-24 months before the group link shows in the register |
|
Ownership changes |
Who bought whom |
Stories for the buyer, the acquired company and the seller |

Nordic market entries |
A company expands into another Nordic country |
"Kymsol Oy laajenee Ruotsiin" / "Kymsol etablerar sig i Sverige", on both companies |

Early signals for new subsidiaries. In Sweden and Finland, a group link only shows in the register 6-24 months after a company is founded. We use early signals, such as shared board members and c/o addresses, to catch these right away.
One click to the account. Each story links straight to the related company's dashboard: parent to subsidiary and buyer to target. You go from the news to the account it concerns in one click.
Why these are sales triggers. Each one is a company putting money into something new. A new site needs fit-out, IT, staff, security, energy and logistics. A new subsidiary or market entry needs suppliers, accounting, recruitment and a local setup. A new owner often means new priorities and a supplier review.
Ask the research agent about the annual report
The Research Agent can now answer questions directly from a company's annual report. Ask things like:
- "Is this a good fit?"
- "What are their plans?"
- "Any warning signs?"
The agent answers using the company's own account of the year: significant events, plans and expected development, auditor remarks, and notes on investments, staff, leasing and pledged assets.
The prospecting agent now also checks for auditor warnings and recent events, so a fit assessment takes the latest annual report into account.
How it works with your signal agents
Annual report items. Your signal agents pick them up automatically. The items are tagged so they match the triggers sellers already follow: expansion, investment, launch, contract win and more. You do not need to change any signal profiles.
Company-change news. Nordic market entries already reach your signal agents. The other types (new workplaces, new companies in a group and ownership changes) will follow once the signal profiles are updated. Until then you can find them in Discover.
Coverage and good to know
- Annual reports cover Swedish limited companies that file digitally. That is most small and mid-sized companies. Large groups rarely file digitally, so you will see fewer of them.
- Annual report signals arrive weekly. Every Monday morning, covering the reports filed the week before.
- Register news arrives daily. The job runs every morning. Timing for new workplaces differs by country (see above).
- Early signals for new subsidiaries apply to Sweden and Finland. In Norway and Denmark the register itself is quick.
- Distress flags are shown once. We flag financial distress when it happens, not every week after.
